Traveling to the soggy Himachal, Priyanka Gandhi requests that the government proclaim a “national disaster.”

Congresswoman Priyanka Gandhi Vadra requested on Tuesday that the recent disaster in Himachal Pradesh brought on by intense monsoon rains be classified as a “national disaster,” calling on the Centre to put “party politics” aside.

“By banding together and taking the initiative to aid the affected families, the people of Himachal have set an example for the nation. The leader continued, “The state government is doing far more than it can by using its limited resources to help the affected families, but without the help of the Union government, it is difficult to restore normalcy and finish renovation projects in addition to helping the people.

On her route from Kullu to Manali, the Congress leader stopped in impacted regions, such as the Sangam Bridge at Bhuntar, which was harmed by the Beas river’s overflow after a period of severe rain in July. She also spoke with flood victims at the Aloo Ground in Manali.
